Client story · Scale-up
Growing a cultural dinner into an annual brand.
We turned a fundraising dinner into Taste of Surrey, a signature annual event that doubled attendance and widened the club’s multicultural reach.

The client
The Rotary Club of Surrey is a not-for-profit service club in Surrey, British Columbia. Its annual cultural dinner is a fundraiser and one of the ways it reaches out to the community. The dinner before our work, the Taste of Nepal, drew 150 guests.
The club wanted to reach a more multicultural audience and more people. Our first event for it was the Taste of India dinner in 2025.
The work
One strategy ran through every decision: turn the club’s annual fundraiser into a platform that raises funds, reaches new communities and establishes the Rotary Club of Surrey as a secular, inclusive and multicultural club with a growing footprint across the Lower Mainland.
New communities at the table
We built the 2025 Taste of India dinner to bring a more multicultural audience to the club. It sold out with more than 300 guests, double the dinner before it.
A city on one menu
For 2026 we reshaped the dinner into Taste of Surrey, with food from India, Brazil and Nigeria in one evening, so more of Surrey’s communities could see themselves in the club.
A brand people remember
One name and one look across the reel, banner, flyers and award certificates, so Taste of Surrey returns every year as the club’s signature event, with strong brand recall.
Every evening, curated
We curated each dinner and ran the evening’s flow, so every guest met the club at its best: welcoming, inclusive and well run.

In the client’s words
As President of the Rotary Club of Surrey, I had the pleasure of working with Shivendra and his team … for our 2025 and 2026 annual fundraisers, Taste of India and Taste of Surrey. These sold-out events brought together more than 300 guests each time.
From designing promotional materials to managing the evening’s flow, they put in considerable time and effort to make the event a success. Their contribution made a real difference to our fundraising efforts.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Shivendra and would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.
